I am way over the hills in my 20s, my passion is writing, my career is in psychotherapy, my girls are my life, my husband is my air, and family is first and everything. I laugh with no reason and smile under the rain. I make wishes when I blow on Dandelions and believe there is something good at the end of every rainbow. I don’t like to be bored but I love silence. I adore all things vintage and struggle eating healthy. I avoid all military-related movies because I've either experienced it, about to experience it, or may experience it. I am a proud book worm and a reality show junkie. I love change and get anxiety about the unknown. Life is unscripted and so - I always write in pencil.
We have been through so much in our lifetime but in the end our love always has and always will prevail. With our lives in the Military, our love has been challenged, tempted, pushed to the edge, grown, and matured. Regardless of what we face the result will forever be the same - soulmates until the very end.
I worry about you everyday you are away no matter where you are! You are my everything and given me the most special gifts ever - our beautiful girls. I can't wait to see what God has planned for our life.
I am so proud of what you are doing for us and our country. What you do comes from complete selflessness and that makes you even more amazing. Forever missing you...near or far.
Always, Your Wife
The youngest is a terror in a tutu and my oldest is the always muddy - emotional one. My girlies are spunky, loud, wishful, playful, and always teasing just like the woman they look up to! My terror (born in the NE) comes equipped with big hair, an internal mic, know-it-all attitude, and of course, lots of hugs and kisses. My emotional one (the Southern belle) is sweet, always considerate, and senstive -my friends have even started calling her my mini-therapist in training!
All in all, they are awesome :)
This blog was originally created during my husband's first deployment. I wanted a place to express getting through the deployment with the power of writing (my 'story-telling') and connecting with other wives as a military spouse and as a psychotherapist.
Since then, my husband returned and after some 30 days we were hit with a surprise deployment. Military life is unpredictable and as military wife – you learn to just keep going. Having this blog has not only given me an outlet to be raw, real, and honest about my true experiences, but I also have connected with so many other amazing people and I hope that I will be able to continue to connect with others having the same or similar experiences.
I enjoy writing and I am always in the “process” of writing something but I constantly lack the time. I have big dreams of being a published book author. I have already written up some children books and now just need a little bit of self-confidence as well as a big push to get over my fears! One of the books I have been working on is to be geared towards military children and families dealing with deployments describing creative ideas and activities to make it a healthy experience as possible. My favorite style in writing is creative non-fiction and my inspiration comes from what’s right in front of me. My dreams may big and seem far reached at times – but this girl will get there someday!
