I thought I would share some websites I think are helpful, resourceful, and/or informative to military families – be it when our spouses are home or deployed.
Hope you find them useful!
You just have to visit this site to see how great it is. There is nothing you won’t find here – information about relocation, military travel, blogs, and loaded with articles!
What doesn’t this site have? You can find any information here relating to all military branches. Benefits, news, entertainment, travel, finance, careers, education, – I can go on. It’s a super easy site to navigate as well. Personally, one of my favorites sites to seek information.
Embody: (W)holistic Mental Health
Created by a psychotherapist trauma social worker who works with the military community this site provides great information and articles about trauma and treatment – mainly using yoga. She reaches out to individuals who are interested in the ‘mind/body connection and healing treatments for mental wounds found in mind/body and complimentary therapies’. The site is definitely worth a visit!
Military Health’s Directory of Military Health Information Resources
This site has been created by a proud Army mom. Her directory is a collection of military health information and resources. All information has been researched and evaluated. The articles are great and very informative. You can find information regarding health issues affecting military members, veterans and their families, PTSD, TBI, Suicide Prevention, Military family dynamics, and much more.
This is the blog of the author of “Faith Deployed: Daily Encouragement for Military Wives”, Jocelyn Green. Her blog-site, however, is filled with resourceful articles of spiritual encouragement. She also posts great articles/entries written by great writers and military wives – including my entry “Stillness”.
Not only is the magazine, Military Spouse, one of my favorites – but their website is just as great, entertaining, and informative.
A great resource for all military wives on many things – but I especially like the up to date news links on their home page.
Mil Spouse (unrelated to the magazine)
Sponsored by the Department of Labor and Department of Defense, it is a great resource for military wives who are looking for employment, training, or educational opportunities.
A new site dedicated to assisting military families transition from duty stations. You can read people’s experiences and opinions about each duty station. Has a great bookstore too! You can order just about any book related to military life – including children’s books.
National Association of Military Moms and Spouses
A great social networking site that is specific to the military. You can find answers or ask questions about anything related to military life!
This site is just great! If your loved one is a marine – there is also a great link to all deployed units with corresponding message boards and information. Great resource information for our new combat veteran generation and also has great marine specific shopping links. In short – the site is very supportive and informative where families can connect and share.
Another great site specific to the Army. Has good information about Army training, schools, and special ops. I especially like the care package link – its loaded with ideas!
(From website) The Department of Defense website for official Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP) program information, policy and guidance designed to help troops and their families, leaders, and service providers. Whether you live the military lifestyle or support those who do, you’ll find what you need!
National Military Family Association
This site is absolutely loaded with information! Everything from benefits, services, rights, to employment, money, and community information. They also have an expanded benefits membership for a fee.
The Little Marine and the Flag
Great childrens book for military families. Fun, cute, and educational — the kind of book parents dream of! My girls love it!
I will be updating and adding to this page as often as I can!
If you have any suggestions or would like to add your site please feel free to contact me!
I use Military.com for everything. They’ve had an answer for every question I’ve come across so far. They also publish the Military Advantage books, which are a wonderful resource as well.
finally added it! Thanks for the reminder – cant believe i forget it!
