About Homefront Wife

I am a late twenties’ wife to a man I have loved since my younger years and a mother of two little girls who fill my heart with joy. I have been a military spouse for 8 years and know very well what the word  ‘sacrifice’ means. Even though at times I want to just be angry at good ol’ Uncle Sam – I am extremely proud of my husband for the duty he does for our country and would not change one thing about being a military family.

I am a Licensed Psychotherapist Social Worker as well, and I am extremely passionate about my field. I received my undergraduate degree from William Paterson University and my Masters degree from New York University. I hope that with this blog I can connect with military spouses in regards to life on the Homefront – where our emotions are always challenged, and, with that, share creative ideas and outlets to express ourselves in a positive healthy way. I enjoy writing whenever I find the time and have been published in the Journal of Palliative Medicine as well as local newspapers and other online sites.

I am also in the process of writing a series of children’s books with a few being geared towards children with parents in the military. My main project right now is gathering a collection of creative ideas and activities for families (with a big focus on children) to do on the homefront while experiencing deployment. Please, if you have any ideas you would like to share – feel free to email me (I would GREATLY appreciate the input).

In addition to writing I also enjoy reading, cooking, spinning, boxing, traveling, going for hikes and walks with my family, and spending quality time lying around the house with my family.
